1/2 PIT BULL 1/2 KITTEN! DOTTIE FOUND COLLARLESS ON THURSDAY 2/4 NEAR PROSPECT PARK.

We found an 8-month-old female pit bull puppy abandoned across from an apartment near Prospect Park a few nights ago. We're looking for a foster/temporary home for her while we look for a permanent home. Dottie, is sweet and loving, but as you probably know, it's hard to find homes for pit bulls -- at least it's hard to find homes where you think this breed will be treated as a pet/family member rather than a flashy weapon on a leash. Right now, she is staying with a family near my apartment who has a 10-month-old St. Bernard. They get along famously. They even drink out of the same bowl (which is a plus, because it means the pit bull has no food aggression). Would you be interested in permanent ownership?

Sweet, sweet, sweet. How sweet it is. This little girl was humanely trapped 2 weeks ago at 6 weeks old. She was a spitball! Practically climbing my bathroom walls. But after just 2 days she's gone from devil to devine. Purrs, plays, she's quite spunky and she is more fun to watch then Donald Trumps hairline!

These two cousins have not had it easy in life.

Two Coney Island strays that my friend Bob and I took from a colony we maintain in Seagate. Their outgoingness and friendliness moved us to remove them from the deep chill of this week. They have both checked out negative and for the most part are healthy. The female to the right had been spayed and the male striped cat to the left has a respiratory conditin which we are now treating successfully. He will be neutered after he has fully recovered. They are now staying in my extremely maxed-out home and can use the peace and quiet of a foster home without dogs. A place where they can just roam your home, get acquainted with you and learn to truly relax in a human environment. If you are interested in fostering these guys and freeing them from the confines of my bathroom please call me at 917 754-3537.

Rudy
A fun loving wonderful friend and companion

Rudy is a 2 year old, neutered male pit bull.  He is fully grown at only 45lbs and is in great physical shape. He has a very nice coat which is soft and shiny and he has great light brown, expressive eyes.  He is also up to date on all of his shots and is house broken.
Rudy was in a kennel for about 3 months before I adopted him.  Prior to that, he was found tied up in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.  He did not have any scars or marks on him when they found him so we are assuming he was not in any fights.  When I first got him he was very depressed and mellow.  Now Rudy is full of energy and loves to play.  He fetches his bone and a ball and he is totally excited to see people.  He knows SIT, PAW, DOWN and is pretty obedient for the most part.  He takes treats and food very gently and never snaps to grab it.  I can take food or bones out of his mouth any time and he never growls, snaps or pulls away.  I have gotten very close to his face to kiss him and he just loves it.  He has never shown any aggression towards people or children.  He loves all people and will go up to anyone and nuzzle his nose into their lap.  He also loves to be outside and to go for long walks or runs.  I have taken him on lots of long walks (several miles at a time) and he has been great.  He also likes to cuddle on the couch with anyone as long as you hug him back and he is perfectly content just hanging out doing nothing.

Unfortunately my new work schedule is going to make keeping Rudy very difficult for me.  I will be required to travel a lot more now so having to manage that with him is very difficult.  I love him to death and do not want to see him put to sleep or put in the wrong hands.  He is not meant to fight or kill, he is meant to love and be loved and my goal is to find him the right home.

Lately he has gotten very attached to me.  I had foot surgery so I was home for over 6 weeks and now he is used to having someone around all the time.  Now that I am back to normal hours at work it is very difficult for him to adapt to not having someone around and he displays signs of separation anxiety.  In addition, he has displayed aggressiveness towards other dogs so I am looking for someone who is familiar with animal behavior and can work with him and deal with this.  Whoever meets him falls in love with him because is so sweet and loveable.  Even people that do not like dogs find Rudy to be special.  He is beautiful and has a great personality.  He is fun to watch; especially when he pounces on his toys to play and all he wants is to be loved and fed.
