Best Bookstores in Brooklyn
Community Bookstore and Cafe of Park
Slope
143 7TH Ave
Brooklyn, NY 11215-2202
(718) 783-3075
Directions: D, Q; F at Seventh Ave.
The Community Bookstore is a step into
another world with an excellent blend of the latest
good reads, the classics . . . poetry, fiction, memoirs,
travel, etc. The owner of the bookstore is so knowledgeable
about authors and books, she can give you great recommendations
based on what she knows you enjoy and also steer you
in directions that you might not have gone in on your
own. The shop is quaint - not too large, not too small
although a few people of a weekend always wish there
were a few more couches or chairs.
The people who work in the store are
great - very good at learning their customers but they
give you all the space you need. Whenever I order a
book, it's generally in within a day or two and they
always call promptly. We need to support our local
bookstores like Community.
